31 for 21: Homeschooling Is Our Route

My husband, Justin, is one of the sweetest men that I have ever known. He is truly my best friend, a selfless husband and a kind, caring father to all three of our daughters. And out of everything he has ever done he still somehow surprised me recently by following me into our basement "classroom" and coming right out and asking me what I really planned to do with homeschooling Vada, like how far did I want to take it. I was nervous to answer because I thought that we weren't fully on the same page and so I quietly replied that I would like to teach her here at home until at the very least third grade. And his reply was that he thought that my idea was a great plan and that he wants to do something for Vada and I as far as our "classroom" goes. He wants to finish it!!!

Right now our basement is just that, a basement, its kind of spooky but still a place that I have made the most out of it as I could.

Justin wants to remodel it and make it into a classroom/craft room/play area, for real. How blessed am I? The goal is to have the basement done by Vada's third birthday in March. We are already doing a lot of home school preschool play things as it is but I am planning on starting our Horizons and BrillKids curriculum full force when V turns three. It doesn't leave much time and money is an object here but were hoping that it'll all work out. Say some prayers, that it may be in Gods will.

On top of all of this greatness, I am so excited that Justin and I are on the same page as far as homeschooling Vada goes. Its something that I never thought that I would do or even want to do but it is now something that I cant imagine not doing. I feel like this is the best thing that I can do for and give to, Vada and what a blessing to me that my husband feels the same way!

How exciting! I hope you post pictures of the renovation. :) I dream often of a separate homeschool area (we use our dining room, which is the only eating place in the house).
