Are you a home schooling parent? Does your child have Down syndrome? If so, I really want to talk to you about your methods, resources and experiences. I am curious about the curriculum and what the required standards are that needs to be met.
Please, if you you are a home schooling parent and your child has Ds, please contact me. I have so many questions!!!
V (my youngest daughter, with Ds) is almost two and a half years old and when she turns three she is suppose to start her early intervention preschool. My older girls didn't start preschool until they were five and six and Illinois law is that they don't have to start until they are seven years old. I would like to keep V at home until at least six and work with her one on one in a structured setting, until then.
Our children are only children once but I know that with her having Ds, she does need that extra amount of help and educating. Im willing to do what ever I can to give her both! My husband on the other hand needs a little convincing with the homeschooling but with all of the right resources at my personal disposal I know that he too will agree that this is whats best for our daughter and maybe even my sanity!
So please, help a mother out. :)
